News: 100 Climbs Club

Hot on the heals of the 100 Greatest Cycling Climbs App ( on iOS http://apple.co/2iL3tl8 and Android http://bit.ly/2iIfBoQ ), comes the launch of the 100 Climbs club, a club open to anyone who can complete the ‘simple’ task of riding all 100 Climbs in the book.

Up and down Britain, 1000’s of cyclists are gradually ticking off the hills and now there’s a reward, an acknowledgment for their effort, lifetime membership of the ‘100 Climbs Club’ and an exclusive gold badge. Just like the Blue Peter badge, the 100 Climbs badge can’t be bought in any shop or on any website, it can only be earned with copious amounts of effort.

It represents hours in the saddle fighting the pull of gravity, of good days on the bike and bad days on the bike dragging your self up vicious gradients from the Highlands of Scotland to the South Downs.

So how do you qualify?

1. Every time you bag a climb log it on Strava,
2. join the 100 Climbs Strava club, https://www.strava.com/clubs/100climbsclub
3. then head over to the veloviewer leaderboard to track your progress.

When you reach the magic 100 your name will be highlighted gold for all to see, and once your claim has been ratified your badge will be awarded for you to wear with pride the rest of your life. To date the club has just four members, Mark Oliver, Steve Benton, Mike Pridmore-Wood, and myself (Simon Warren), but looking at the activity at the top of the veloviewer leaderboard the ranks will soon be swelling.
