Peterborough CC’s James Gelsthorpe followed up his 3rd place in his own club open 10 the previous day, with a comfortable victory in the Bourne Wheelers CC Open 10 run on the C10/10 course near Sleaford, Lincolnshire.
The event, the first in a three race series being held in memory of Bourne Wheelers stalwart Robin Day, took place in warm conditions, as Gelsthorpe posted a 21:03 to take victory by 42 seconds from Antony Gough (Velo-One Cycling Team) with Simon Pitchford (Fenland Clarion) a further 50 seconds back in third. Securing a double for Peterborough CC was Marina Dorosenko who finished first female in 27:29.
