The Stages
Above: the stage on the Saturday around Derwent Reservoir. 5 laps for the women, 7 for the men.
Women – Starts 8.50am
Distance: (5 laps) 60 miles
Start on the B6306 Edmundbyers outside the village shop (new). Take first left into reservoir and upon leaving the private grounds joining the B6278, end of neutral area, proceed to Manor House.
Turn left into A68, continue to Barley Hill and turn left to Minsteracres. Turn left and continue along the north side of the reservoir. Turn left at Carrick Corner and proceed through Ruffside and Pow Hill, on to Edmundbyers through Derwent Reservoir grounds.
This completes one lap of the course. At the finish of lap five through Edmundbyers, do not turn left into reservoir as in previous laps. Continue down over the Derwent Bridge, enter the grounds of the reservoir and finish at the top of the hill as in previous years.
Men – Starts 12.40pm
Distance: (7 laps) 84 miles
Start on the B6306 Edmundbyers outside the village shop. Take first left into reservoir and upon leaving the private grounds joining the B6278, end of neutral area, proceed to Manor House. Turn left into A68, continue to Barley Hill and turn left to Minsteracres.
Turn left and continue along the north side of the reservoir. Turn left at Carrick Corner and proceed through Ruffside and Pow Hill, on to Edmundbyers through Derwent Reservoir grounds. This completes one lap of the course.
At the finish of lap seven through Edmundbyers, do not turn left into reservoir as in previous laps. Continue down over the Derwent Bridge, enter the grounds of the reservoir and finish at the top of the hill as in previous years. This is approximately 87.5 miles.

The Stages
Women – Starts 8.50am
Distance: 63 miles 2 laps of Reservoir, 1 lap of Blanchland, 2 laps of reservoir
Starting in Edmundbyers on the B6306 outside Edmundbyers village shop take the first left into the reservoir grounds. Exit the grounds at Derwent Bridge and climb with a left turn to the prime point at the Manor House Inn. Continue to Minsteracres and turn left along the North side of the reservoir to Carricks Corner, through Edmundbyers to turn into the reservoir grounds and complete the lap on the Dam wall.
On the second lap, turn right at Carricks Corner towards Blanchland and left at Rope Barns. Climb to the summit of Horseshoe Hill (prime) and turn left after approx 2 miles towards Edmundbyers. Take great care on the descent as you will be on open moorland with sheep grazing on both sides of the road.
Towards the foot of the descent a right curve is fenced. This will be protected by straw bales. In Edmundbyers continue to turn left into the reservoir grounds to pass the finish line. Complete two further laps of the reservoir. On the second lap, do not turn left into the reservoir grounds. Carry on over Derwent Bridge as on stage 1 to finish at the top of the climb to the Dam Wall.
Mens – 1.45pm
Distance: 83 miles (2 laps of reservoir, 3 laps of Blanchland circuit, 2 laps of reservoir)
Starting the same as Saturday complete one lap of the reservoir. On the second passing of Carricks Corner turn right towards Blanchland and left at Rope Barns. Climb to the summit of Horseshoe Hill and turn left after approx 2 miles towards Edmundbyers. Take great care on the descent as you will be on open moorland with sheep grazing on both sides of the road.
Towards the foot of the descent a right curve is fenced. This will be protected by straw bales. Turn left up Church Bank in Edmundbyers and on towards Blanchland. Complete a further two laps then do not turn left at Church Bank but carry on to turn left into the reservoir grounds and complete a further two laps round the reservoir. On the final lap carry on over Derwent Bridge as on stage 1 to finish at the top of the climb before the Dam Wall. Team cars must turn left into the grounds and park as on stage 1.
