The inaugural Holmfirth CC Road Races were held on a cool and blustery day in West Yorkshire.

The Albion Cycling Company Elite Race was won by Joey Walker of Team Wiggins. After an attacking race with several breaks Walker attacked from the reduced lead group just before the bell in the 9 lap race.

Over the final 15km Walker built his lead up to over a minute to take a comfortable win on the hilly Upper Denby Circuit. David Shackleton of Wilsons Wheels RT also escaped in the closing stages to take 2nd with Will Corden of Mammoth Lifestyle RT winning the gallop at the head of the depleted bunch.

In the support race for 3/4 riders Andy Cunningham of All Terrain Cycles was in a solo lead for almost the full race, mopping up the 2 intermediate primes. At the bell he had a 30 second lead with the bunch closing in. It was Danny Winfield of Geared Up Cycles RT who emerged from the pack to overtake Cunningham in the final 200m drag to the line. Cunningham held on for second ahead of Jake Unsworth of Ilkley CC who won the bunch sprint
