News: Loren Rowney Joins Drops Cycling

The 28-year-old ex-professional Cyclist, who previously rode for Orica-Scott and Velocio-SRAM (now Canyon-SRAM) will bring her vast racing experience to the team to help both the riders and staff to develop.

The former stage winner of Tour de Feminin and La Route de France is excited at the prospect of joining the team. “When the potential to work with Drops a few months back arose, I jumped at the opportunity to sit down and have a chat with owner Bob Varney.

The program that Bob is running, is exactly the kind of team that I want to be involved with. We have a fantastic mix of young up and comers from Britain, as well as some exciting new signings for 2018. Without a doubt, Drops is the most professional “biggest small” team in the UCI WWT, with great potential for growth.

I hope to bring on my years of experience as a professional cyclist, as well as enthusiasm to help guide the riders to achieve the best of their abilities”.

Drops Team Director, Bob Varney commented “I am really happy that we have been able to sign Loren to the team for 2018. She brings a wealth of experience as a rider, and a positive ‘can do’ attitude that epitomises the Drops spirit.

Loren will help us to build on our progress to date, learn from our mistakes, and support our core values, ethos and unique style.

She is an important appointment that reinforces our ambition to grow into a successful world tour team. Loren will be a welcome addition to our Service Course and I’m excited to start working with her.” Loren’s role begins this off-season with the preparation for 2018 kicking off soon.
