Accell Group has announced the appointment of Mrs Pippa Wibberley as Managing Director of Raleigh UK from November 1st, 2017.

Pippa joined Raleigh UK in 2015 as Sales and Marketing director and has since gone on to be invaluable in the growth and direction of the business. In a statement from Accell, they have said: ‘We are proud that Pippa accepted the appointment and look forward to working closely with her on the implementation of an exciting growth agenda for the business’.

Pippa has already been a key driving force in the consumer centric direction of Raleigh UK and is determined to continue to deliver the significant benefits of being part of the group to UK Bicycle Dealers.

Recent changes at Raleigh include the implementation of a new consumer service team which is a huge step for the business and will ensure consumers receive a ‘best in class’ service at every touch point with their purchase journey.

Continuing to deliver the best possible service to IBDs in the UK also high on the business agenda. Being the only UK distributor to offer next day delivery for orders placed as late as 6pm is a great achievement and Pippa is keen to expand on Raleigh’s business offering striving for ever improved service to the IBD market.

Additionally, the business has undergone a number of changes within the Product development department which are designed to fine tune the in-house product offering taking the company from strength to strength.

The addition of a new Digital and Online team aims to tackle the issues faced by the IBD market with 81% of consumers now researching their products online before purchase. A large part of the team’s role will be centred around improving the purchase journey for consumers, encouraging store visits and creating the best possible instore and aftersales experience with partner dealers. These new team structures have been created to focus the direction of the business and provide support in areas for growth and development.

Raleigh UK has recently taken over the exclusive UK distribution of Lapierre. As an Accell group brand this was an obvious choice for the new direction of the Lapierre brand in the UK and will enable improved service delivery by focusing on the benefits of cross-group working.

Lapierre is added to the now impressive bike portfolio alongside Raleigh, Haibike and Diamondback. Furthermore, the recent launch of the Lapierre and Haibike in-tube E Performance bikes in the UK has been an exciting technological advancement for the brands and sits alongside the success of recent Raleigh models such as the Strada and Mustang.

Pippa and the Raleigh UK team will be fighting to further grow their market leadership position in the electric bike market. Mrs Wibberley commented “We have made significant progress in securing strong positions in our key markets this year and I am looking forward to developing these strengths further. Business simplification, building the competencies we need for the future and focus on core markets are key”.
