New start for Cherie Pridham Racing (formerly Raleigh GAC) as they announce a new name for 2018, Vitus Pro Cycling Team
Team News: Vitus Pro Cycling Team
Team Press Release
Cherie Pridham is proud to launch Vitus Pro Cycling Team, a newly formed UCI Continental registered squad for the 2018 calendar.
The 2018 season will mark the fifth season that Cherie Pridham Racing has managed a British UCI registered team. In partnership with WiggleCRC under the name of Vitus Pro Cycling, Cherie will continue to develop a team committed to the British cycling scene.
The combination of carefully arranged sponsors has been crafted to provide a new approach to the cycling scene, headlined by Vitus Bikes. First emerging as a frame builder in 1970s France, Vitus Bikes played a pivotal role in pioneering the design and manufacture of lugged and bonded aluminium frames, the most iconic being the 979, ground-breaking at the time and still prized among collectors today.
“2018 will be an exciting new beginning for the team” says Cherie. “The security of our new sponsorship will provide a platform for many young future stars to race at the highest level in Britain and learn about the sport from within it. Vitus are aligned with our approach, and I am delighted that the team is supported by a brand that creates bikes for all ages, all abilities and disciplines.”

The Vitus Pro Cycling Team will be riding the new 2018 Vitus Vitesse Evo Team bike with Shimano Dura Ace groupsets and WiggleCRC’s Prime Wheels. “The team’s key targets in the coming year will include providing our valued sponsors innovative methods of exposure for the great products they supply to us. We have carefully selected our sponsors to ensure we believe in their offering. Sponsorship of any team should be a two-way relationship, and by testing and providing valuable feedback on those products, the team sponsors can continue to evolve them for the future. For us, that is both an exciting and rewarding challenge for the year ahead”.
One of the most thrilling aspects of the team will be Vitus Pro Cycling Team approach to giving young riders the opportunity of racing at the highest level and helping them gain the experience to establish themselves in the world of professional cycling. Without this opportunity, many would be lost to cycling whilst the established older generation would carry on before retiring gracefully with few left to replace them.

“We want to carve a new way of bringing new riders in to the fray, supporting sponsors, while enhancing the industry as a whole. I am delighted Vitus share our enthusiasm about cycling, the future professional generation and recreational riders at all levels. We hope that Vitus Pro Cycling Team can represent those who love to cycle at any level knowing that our team is focused on developing the future of the industry.”
The team are thrilled to be welcoming new sponsors Brother UK, Comech, Smith Partnership, Solace Global for 2018 and excited to be continuing our excellent partnerships with our current sponsors Toyota, Bristor & Hex systems, Schwalbe, Smith Cooper Ltd, Don Amott Leisure Kingdom, Mavic, Kitbrix, Suunto, Unior Tools, Silkolene, Solomon, Derby University and Velotoze who are all committed to supporting the team. More information about how all our sponsors are working with the team will be shared throughout the season.
The team line-up for 2018 will be announced on Thursday 4th January 2018.
