Introducing the team’s Julio Alberto Amores

Julio, who is 24, has already been racing in 2018 with the Spanish national team, an indication of the level he is racing at and he rode Challenge Mallorca. Team owner, Cherie Pridham, says that having worked over the last three years with Spanish riders, they have proved to be a great asset to the team.

“We have a good relationship with Rafa Casero, who runs a successful Under 23 team in Spain and he has had a great relationship working with these riders before moving them on when they are no longer under 23. We spoke about Julio for the 2017 season but he had an opportunity to race a good Spanish program last year but for 2018, we have him in our team.”

“Julio will certainly bring a different dimension to our team this year. He is quick, especially from a small group, aggressive and likes to get stuck into his racing. He’s an opportunist really and being a good track rider as well, that is something which always fits well with the British program and races such as the Tour Series.”

“We can’t wait to see our pocket rocket in action”.

Julio meanwhile says “for me to sign for Vitus Pro Cycling Team is a new opportunity in a Continental team, a new step for my dream. It will be an opportunity to show what I am worth”.

He goes on to say “my ambitions for 2018 are firstly, to adapt to the British way of racing, to make my presence felt in the team whenever possible, to be seen and win races. In addition, I want to improve my English LoL!”

Julio has raced, and won medals on the track with riders who have already for ridden for Cherie like Seb Mora and last season, Julio was riding with another rider who had success in Britain, Albert Torres. No surprise then he says “I have been told a lot about the races in Britain, telling me that they suit my riding style, although I will not know how much until I’m racing. I am excited to be racing in Britain and I trust I will enjoy a lot!”

We look forward to seeing Julio racing in Britain
