News: TLI Cycling’s Lapierre Race League

TLI Cycling will be running in the North West, a new race league sponsored by Lapierre France who provide the bikes to French pro team FDJ

News: TLI Cycling’s Lapierre Race League

The 8 events that make up the Lapierre Race Series for 2018 that will be run under TLI Cycling rules and regulations have been announced. The series commences with the ‘Green Jersey Road Race’ on the 8th April, and climaxes with the Graham Weigh ‘Series Finale’ time trial based upon the Horseshoe pass on the 16th September that will also incorporate the TLI Cycling National Time Trial Championships.

Major Event Series in 2018 - Lapierre League 2018
1. 8/04 Green Jersey RR's, Bashall Eaves
2. 29/04 Birkenhead North End RR, Holt
3. 13/05 Steve Jones Memorial, Holt
4. 26/06 Charlie Betteley Memorial, Swynnerton

5. 08/07 George Darlington Memorial RR, Clieves Hill
6. 15/07 ProVision RR, Swynnerton
7. 2/09 J.F.Parkinson Memorial, Siddington
8. 16/09 National TT Championships, Llangollen

* All events will carry Race winner jerseys for all Senior age categories
* Points awarded for first 10 riders multiplied by the number of entries in that age category
* Six best events to count but Time Trial Championships will carry double normal points calculation

Lapierre are offering an overall prize list of £2,000 and the overall series winner, based upon points accumulated by each rider in all of the TLI Cycling age categories, will receive a top range Lapierre road bike. In addition the winner of each age category in each event will receive a special race winners jersey.

Graham Weigh, the series coordinator, explained that “although the 2018 series events all take place in the north west of the UK, TLI Cycling is a national cycle racing organisation and we would like to think that the series could be expanded to cover other regions in the years to come. I would like to thank Raleigh and Lapierre for the interest shown in TLI Cycling and I believe that the series will provide the opportunity for some really exciting cycle racing”.
