Conditions could not have been any better for the 286 competitors who turned out at a sun-drenched NSC last Tuesday night for round ten of the RL360 Youth League.

In the born 2013 & later age group Euan Kinnish outsprinted fellow frontrunners Bella Quaye, Jackson Roberts, Riley Faragher and Eli Dawson to record his fourth win of the series. Daisy Teare, Harry Kinrade and Sam Booth trailed in separately to fill sixth, seventh and eighth places respectively, with Ewan McCubbin beating Bobby Quaye and India Smith in the dash for ninth. Relative newcomer James Fisher led the rest of the field home in a very good 12th spot.

Charlotte Ashall edged out Elliott Barron for her first victory of the season in the novices class. Holly Beattie was a safe third and Jenson Baglow got the better of Kahia Grobbelaar, Xara Quinn and Claudia Hoch in the tussle for fourth. Leon Askin was a lonely eighth and Heidi Kelly overtook Toby Smith in the closing stages to snatch ninth. Oliver Ford was 11th and Ffinlo Cannell took the bunch gallop for 12th.

Bagging maximum points for the second week in succession, Cameron Eyres rode away from the opposition on the finishing straight for a comfortable win in the born 2012 category. Poppy Clayton was second and Tommie Quayle held off George Hampton and Timothy Clarke in the rush for third. Kieran Binns maintained sixth a short distance ahead of Aedan Le Roux, Oscar Maddrell and Seamus Hall, with Corrie Brogan leading Charlie Christian and Archie Kaighin home to complete the top ten.

In the born 2011 race Jacob Wilson was too fast for breakaway partners Finbar McSevney, Bernat Munoz-Fite and Abigail Cowell in the tussle for the top slot. Alex McCullagh was just behind in fifth position and Toby Costain escaped from a chasing group of eight riders to secure sixth. Charlie Dormer won the charge for seventh ahead of Samuel Kinnish and Joshua Moffitt.

Series leader Kylan Murphy continues to dominate the born 2010 event, attacking from the gun and soloing all the way to the finish. Liam Blake came from behind to pip Brad Le Geyt for the runners-up spot and Conor Madsen-Mygdal beat Harrison Skillan and Lula Kinnish in the dash for fourth. Hugh Osborn was a solid seventh and Archie Mulholland headed Daniel Minay and Illiam Thomas over the line for eighth.

Notching up her seventh straight win and eight in total, May-Saa Smith left her six travelling companions behind in the scamper for the chequered flag. Eddie Dillon was second closely followed by Zach Jones, Cameron Hounsell, Alfie Mathieson-Nelson, Tom Pickavance and Abi Clayton in third to seventh places respectively. Callum Christian and Graihagh Morgan were a steady eighth and ninth, with Henry Dormer getting the verdict in the chasing group gallop for tenth.

Alec Sorby came out on top in the nine-strong bunch sprint for the top honours in the born 2008 class. Deaglan Blake and Joel Long filled the remaining places on the podium, while Tiana Kelly finished just behind the leaders to take the girls’ prize in 11th spot. In the following born 2007 & earlier grouping Oscar Gaylor got the verdict over Cian Howard in the final dart for the flag. Orry Lund was third and Nicola Quaye the leading girl in fourth place. James Kinrade and Jess Pickavance rounded off the top six.

In the under-8 and under-10 racing bikes Alec Sorby spearheaded ten escapees over the line to remain unbeaten in the seven rounds he has competed in. Deaglan Blake edged Charlie Williams for the runners-up spot, with T.J.Teare and Freddie Griffin a good fourth and fifth. Kylan Murphy was the first under-8 in sixth place and May-Saa Smith the top girl in seventh position.

Cian Howard topped the under-12 racing bikes, narrowly beating Oscar Gaylor and Ivan Sorby in the lunge for the line. Owen Collins And Orry Lund were fourth and fifth followed by the leading girls Nicola Quaye and Sophie Smith in sixth and seventh. Rio Kelly and Jess Pickavance came in line astern for eighth and ninth, with Charlie Scarffe edging James Kinrade for tenth.

Finally, in the under-14 and under-16 racing bikes Will Corkill attacked with two laps to go and stayed clear to the finish. James Harrison and Aaron Lund were second and third, followed by Corrin Leeming, Tyler Hannay and Matthew Cooil. The under-14 honours went to Ralph Holden in seventh spot and the girls’ award to Shellan Leeming in 14th place.
