News: Success for the Ribble UltraTri TT Bike
Ribble Cycles Press Release
Latest: Ribble have just launched a 7.55% OFF promo on the Ultra TT and TRI in response to Joe’s win – the code you need is ULTRA7
Ribble Cycles are excited to announce that Joe Skipper – winner of the 2018 UK IRONMAN title yesterday (15th July) – has joined Team Ribble’s roster of sponsored triathletes and cyclists.
Joe won the IRONMAN UK held in Bolton on Sunday 15th July, 2018 by a huge seven-minute victory margin from a field of over 2,000. Sixth placed out of the water, Joe’s strong bike leg – on the new, aero-optimised Ribble Ultra TRI bike – moved him through to second place and into the ideal position to challenge for the title.
Joe speaking of his new Ribble race bike – “When I first saw the Ribble Ultra tri bike I thought wow that looks a fantastic bike for long course triathlon. Integrated nutrition and hydration storage and an aero looking frame”.
“I got in contact with Ribble and they let me test the bike out and it didn’t disappoint – I broke my PB on a training loop the first time I rode the bike! Aerodynamics is a massive part of cycling and triathlon and I truly believe the Ultra Tri is up there with the top bikes – it’s certainly the fastest bike that I’ve had the pleasure of riding. I was excited to get on the Ultra Tri at Ironman UK on Sunday and given the win, I’m looking forward to be racing it for the remainder of the season.”
“After finishing third in 2013, second in 2014 and third in 2015, it’s amazing to take my first UK IRONMAN title. I felt today was going to be my day and it now sets me up for the rest of the year. The support I had was absolutely incredible, I was blown away. I felt good.”
Ribble will support Joe in his bid to qualify for the Kona World Championship in October – the biggest prize in the highly demanding sport of triathlon.
The Ribble Ultra TRI
The Ribble Ultra Tri was launched (alongside the Ultra TT) after an extensive R&D process in May, 2018. Every aspect of the Ultra Tri has been optimised for performance with ultimate watt-saving aerodynamic efficiency as the priority. From the full carbon aero fork providing precise steering, control and featuring truncated Kamm-tail aerofoils, the truncated aero frame profiles and multi-position seat post, the Ultra Tri is a rapid race platform.
Fully equipped for triathlon events of all distances and levels, with a full complement of feed boxes and hydration system, this superbike is designed to maximise every aero advantage for bike leg performances.
Other Triathlon Specific Performance Features Include;
Fit range and adjustability: The frame geometry is designed to give riders a more aerodynamic position to maximise time trial and bike split performance. The Ultra Tri offers a great range of adjustability allowing you to dial the cockpit to maximise your aerodynamic efficiency. To further fine tune your perfect fit the aero seat post of the Ultra Tri enables a wide range of effective seat tube angles from 76 to 79 degrees for your preferred position.
Aero Feed Boxes and Hydration System: The Ultra Tri accommodates two custom aero feed boxes and an aerodynamically optimised hydration system.
Joe will also be provided with a custom colour Ribble Aero 883 carbon road bike (raced successfully by the Ribble Pro Cycling team) to use for training and road racing.
