Tour of Britain Team News: JLT Condor

John Herety has made his selection for the OVO Energy Tour of Britain, which starts in Wales on Sunday (2nd September). Having enjoyed another successful season in both Britain and around the globe, the team will be looking to their final race of the season to go out with a bang.

The six-man squad of Tom Stewart, Graham Briggs (above), Jon Mould, Edmund Bradbury, Tom Moses and Ali Slater represents an exciting blend of experience and attacking mentality, with the riders ready to animate the eight stage race.

Tom Stewart leads the team into the eight-day race. Earlier this year, the Yorkshire-man claimed overall victory at the Tour de Normandie, before travelling to the Commonwealth Games to represent England and race for JLT Condor in Canada’s Tour de Beauce and the Tour of Japan.

“We’re a British team, with British riders and sponsors in a home race”, says Doncaster-born Tom Stewart. “It’s a great opportunity to showcase what we’re about and the pressure is on. We won’t have a target on our back and the longer leash that bigger teams will give us means we can have more fun.”

Stewart is joined by 2018 Commonwealth Games silver-medallist, Jon Mould, who recently claimed victory at the UCI-ranked Grand Prix des Marbries. Loyal domestique, Ali Slater, who finished second on the opening stage of the 2018 Tour de Yorkshire, gained selection along with Edmund Bradbury, Tom Moses and 2017’s Tour of Britain super-combativity winner, Graham Briggs.
