Favourites get away well

Helen Pattinson and Maddie Smith draw away from the rest

But were joined by Lucy Siddle …

Before Maddie Smith dropped back and Helen Pattinson gapped Siddle

With Pattinson going on to win and delighted she was too!

A large field of over 50’s kicked off the second race ….

With the over 60’s next to be started …

A small group soon formed at the front of the race

Andrew Peace leads a small group from Tim Davies and Pete Middleton with Chris Taylor next and then Tim Gould

In the second half of the race, Chris Taylor got a gap on Pete Middleton and the other rivals and held on to win from Middleton …

And Tim Gould who battled back from several falls to clinch third from Andrew Peace in the final corners of the race

Over 60 Podium: 2nd Peter Harris, 1st Kirby Bennett and 3rd John Galway

Vet Men 40 Plus

Start of the final race of the day for Vet 40 Plus

Adrian Lansley wasted no time getting into the lead

Paul Oldham came from a few places back to slot into second place with Kris Lapere just behind him

Darren Atkins then led a small group chasing the leaders

Lansley looked in control at the front, resisting all chases from behind

Oldham chased him hard but wasn’t able to close down the Wessex League rider

Nick Craig, as ever, came from behind to chase a podium place and put a lot of pressure on Kris Lapere

But the race belonged to Lansley …

… whilst Oldham was second with Kris Lapere outsprinting Craig for third
