Andy Nichols who has been riding the Rutland CC Mam Nick Hill event for a few years finally took the win whilst Hatti Archer, a newcomer to the event won the womens event. October 13

Result: Rutland CC Mam Nick Hill

Conditions were a bit windy and very wet. A strange swirling gale occasionally became a tailwind on the lower slopes, before becoming a hazardous crosswind halfway up and a brick wall headwind at the top. At least it was warm. On such a day it was very unlikely that any records would be broken.

Andy Nichols (Team B38/Underpin) has been riding this event for a few years and it was nice to see him finally take the win. Hatti Archer (Bolsover & District CC) is a newcomer to the event and clocked a very impressive 8:10.7 to win the womens event. It will be interesting to see what she can do on a better day. Several of the age category competitions were very close – all the results are below.

Thanks to the bakers, who are responsible for an unprecedented amount of donations for refreshments! I brought more milk this year so that we didn’t run out. Thanks to everyone for hanging around and having a chat afterwards.
