News: New race for South East

Project Auster are pleased to announce a new domestic Elite cycle road race in the South East of England in July 2019.

After an absence of several years, the new event will bring back Elite racing to the region with the largest membership of British Cycling. The course will include King of the Mountain and Sprint competitions.

Plans for the inaugural edition in 2019 are well advanced. Scott Taylor, Race Director, said: “We have brought together a world-class team to develop and deliver the event that will feature elite men’s and women’s races.

“Our intention is to engage with local communities and businesses to bring economic benefits to, and raise the profile of, the areas that the races pass through. We want to create a lasting event that is sustainable, brings communities together and that people can enjoy.

“We will be working closely with stakeholders and partners over the coming months to bring a challenging, exciting and inspirational race to the South East.”

Further information about the event including the route and host towns will be announced over the coming months.
