British legend Sean Yates has been announced as the ambassador for Ribble’s e-road bike – the Endurance SLe. Yates, ex Pro Rider (TdF Yellow Jersey winner, TdF and Vuelta stage winner, Tour of Belgium winner & British National Champion), Pro Team Director Sportif and included in the British Cycling Hall of Fame says… “Cycling has always been my life but due to health issues I’ve not been able to ride where or as much as I’d like.”
“I will always have the passion to ride and the head and heart still want to experience that feeling of freedom. Without this bike, I might be stuck indoors watching daytime TV. The SLe gives me the opportunity to go back out on rides I thought were no longer possible, to still take on the epic climbs and carry on enjoying my cycling.”
Andy Smallwood, Ribble Cycles CEO says “As a young rider I remember watching Sean race, inspired by his class and toughness especially against the clock and in events like the Tour and Paris Roubaix, so I’m especially pleased that a rider with Sean’s pedigree is an ambassador for our all-new SLe. He’s a true British cycling legend, recognised for his incredible turn of speed and power, which really matches our world class SLe and is the making for a great British brand partnership. I can’t wait to see him back out on the road and conquering those climbs.”
With its high-end race bike design, geometry and lightweight combined with stealth internal battery and electric drive system, and complete builds ranging from 11kg, the Ribble Endurance SLe is the World’s lightest e-road bike range. Yates added: “I’m keen to start promoting the virtues of the SLe and the benefits associated with e-road bikes.”
“Anything that looks this cool and rides that well and can get people back out there riding, keeping up with the group on the hills or cycling further and over terrain they never thought possible – has got to be a good thing.” Sean will be riding the SLe in Spain and across Europe during 2019.

World’s lightest e-road bike range.

THE FRAME
Based on the new superlight Ribble Endurance SL frame platform the SLe has been designed around a carefully considered geometry resulting in a frameset that offers stability, comfort and great handling with enough adjustability to suit both endurance riders and those looking for a more performance optimised riding position.
The SLe frameset is manufactured from a carefully selected blend of Toray’s T1000 and T800 carbon layered to an exacting specification using an advanced monocoque mould technology incorporating an EPS inner core system which ensures complete consistency of the structural integrity of the fibres and resin throughout the frame. This system also eliminates excess material on the inside of the frame.
The profiles and shapes designed into the frame are all there for a specific performance reason, from the box section down tube and chain-stays enhancing torsional stiffness to the seat post and seat stays designed for vertical compliance and vibration absorption, this frame is the epitome of design and attention to detail.
With a multitude of component, wheel and finishing kit specification options the SLe can be built into your dream bike tailored to your style and level of riding using our online bikebuilder.
