After last Friday saw the official launch of Team Bottrill for 2019 where some of the team got together for photos, a ride out and some season planning  the season kicked off for the team with the BDCA 2up time trial.

The two lap circuit which in the past has been used for the CTT National Circuit Championships and a host of time trials and road races.Its a very hilly circuit with the main climbs from Lount- Newbold Verdon and the main climb upto the Vinegar hill at Griffydam cross roads. Riders would complete two circuits with a fast finish down to Belton, covering a full distance of 25 miles.

Team Bottrill had 3 teams competing and did great with Matt Bottrill and Brett Harwood taking the win with a time of 41:20 this was a new course record by 5secs. 2nd went to the pairing of father and son Keith and Sam Murray Drag2zero 43:55 And Team Bottrill pairing Steph Post and Gareth Pymm 44:41. Bottrill Commented ” It felt so good being out there today. I asked Brett if he fancied riding and Luckily he said yes. I was really happy with how our raced mapped out and we were very evenly matched. We took 40 second turns and made sure we really kept the speed high over the undulations.

Next race for Matt will be the Eddie Soens Memorial, where he placed 2nd place last season.
