News: Jens Voigt Charity Ride
For the seventh year running Trek Ambassador Jens Voigt will be returning to the New Forest to raise money for the Epilepsy Society, a friendship for over twenty years has enabled Stuart Grace GA Cycles to run the event for a charity close to his heart.
The event will also have for the second year running another Trek Ambassador in the form of six times World Champion Marion Clignet, an Epilepsy sufferer herself. We try to impress to riders signing up that this is NOT a race just the opportunity to ride and chat with two legends of the sport.
The first group off ( 10 groups of 12) will leave around 9.00am from the HQ at Hoburne Bashley, Sway Road, New Milton, with Stuart, Jens and Marion setting the pace till the 5 mile mark. At this point the three will stop and wait for the second group who will start 5 minutes after the first, this system will carry on till all of the groups have left the HQ.
After returning to the HQ both Jens and Marion will freshen up and start a Q @ A session in the hall where the riders will have assembled. With help from a number of cycling outlets and contacts that Stuart, Jens and Marion have, there will be a great number of items to purchase with the money going to a second nominated charity Solent Mind (a Southampton based Mental Health group). Later there will be an opportunity to have the signed item and photo.
Not to waste the time that the two are in the UK, they will attend the Crabwood CC local 10 mile TT on the Sunday riding the tough P182c, with one lucky, or unlucky rider doing a 2UP TT with Jens.
Thanks to Darren at Estrella Bikes for the item, one of the sponsors of the ride along with Prendas Ciclismo
