Continental launches limited edition Competition TdF LTD 2019 tubular tire to celebrate 100 years of the Yellow Jersey

– Limited edition – only 3460 tires available
– Features special edition yellow Tour de France stamp
– Available now in stores worldwide

Keeping the Tour de France’s momentum going on today’s rest day, Continental launches its limited edition Competition TdF LTD 2019 tire to celebrate 100 years of the Yellow Jersey.

As Main Partner of the 2019 Tour, this special tubular tyre is the only one of its kind to have the yellow Tour de France stamp on the sidewall and packaging – but fans had better act quickly, as there are only 3460 tires available to buy; a homage to the gruelling 3460km the professionals are riding in this year’s race. The Competition TdF LTD 2019 is available to buy now in stores worldwide, SRP €106.

With its extra-thin carcass, this Tour de France limited edition 200tpi model features Continental’s premium BlackChili Compound, a high-tech liquid-crystalline polymer Vectran™ breaker and a hand-sewn butyl rubber inner tube. Crafted in the brand’s own factory in Korbach, Germany, the new tyre is produced by the same experts and engineers responsible for the renowned Pro LTD tire.

WorldTour team Groupama-FDJ’s Thibaut Pinot took the Tour de France Stage 14 win on Saturday on the Pro LTD tires, which have recently and notably seen victory on the wheels of Movistar Team’s Alejandro Valverde at the 2018 UCI Road World Championships and teammate Richard Carapaz at the 2019 Giro d’Italia.

Competition TdF LTD 2019 key features:
— 3,460 tires available
— Tubular
— BlackChili Compound
— Vectran™ breaker
— Special edition yellow Tour de France stamp on the sidewall
