Event Press Release
Entries are now Open
Entries are now open for this year’s championships taking place at Manchester’s National Cycling Centre from October 10th to 17th. To enter go to www.cyclingmasters.com and click on Riders for full information and the on line entry system. The proposed schedule of events is also posted on the web site.
UCI agree to 80+ Age Group
The Organising Committee have received numerous requests to include an ‘Over 80’ age category in the championships. Following representation to the UCI by the Organising Committee this has now been agreed for this year’s championships in Manchester. 80+ events will now be held for both men and women in the championship events of Time Trial, Sprint, Individual Pursuit, Points Race and Scratch Race providing that the minimum number of riders take part.
These are 8 for the individual and 12 for the bunch races. Should these numbers not be met the age group will be combined with the 75-79 year group but separate victory cremonies will be held for the two age groups.
The organising committee will issue a revised schedule as soon as possible but it is envisaged that the extra event will be on the same days as the existing 75+ category.
We are sure that this decision wil be welcomed by the older riders some of whom have participated in several lower age groups during the 26 years of the championships.
Entries for the championships are now open on the web site together with tickets sales.
