News: BEC CC Anniversary 10

On Sunday morning, the BEC CC ran their Anniversary 10 on the G10/39 Horne Circuit, nr Godstone in Surrey. They call it their Anniversary 10, as its an informally run event, although always hotly contested on the closest relevant weekend to the Clubs Formation way back in 1924, and was originally included on their Race Calendar as an event to attract older members whose racing days were long past; Ex Members, friends and guests to just get together, ride the bike, see old friends.

The Bec CC was originally founded as a social/touring Cyclists Club, by Residents of the Totterdown Estate in Tooting, Sth West London, but quickly started to find there were some ‘young tearaways’ who wanted to ‘tear it up’ and started racing.

Today, (Sunday) nine riders faced the Timekeeper on what was a pleasant and warmish outing and their timekeeper, BEC member Peter Hammond made tea & supplied sandwiches from the back of his camper van afterwards… A good old fashioned club get together… long may it continue
