Reece Wood joins brother Ollie at Canyon dhb SunGod for 2021 with the big aim being to win a UCI race next year. Reece came through the ranks within the British Cycling program from youth to U23, spending a lot of his junior years on the track gaining medals at both European and World level.

Reece is looking forward to 2021, and being teammates with his brother Ollie. He says “I’m really excited to see how the 2021 season unfolds with Canyon dhb SunGod. I’ve raced against them many times in previous teams, and always noticed how well the team works together and the high morale. I’ll even be teammates with my brother, that should be good! I‘m looking forward to the calendar as it’s really going to suit my style, with a lot of Belgian and French rolling terrain races.”

When we asked Reece what his goals are for the season, he said: “My main goal for the season is to win a UCI race. I’ve come close a fair few times over the last couple of years, and I think with the team it’s very doable. I’m not one to plan months ahead, but there will be races I aim for. Hopefully the season brings a lot of team wins our way!”

Tim Elverson, owner and sports director: “It feels like I’m joking now, but Reece was somebody I also chatted to for 2020, but he had a good offer to stay in an Under 23 squad which he went with. Throughout this year, he and I have chatted, and with Ollie in the squad already, Reece’s ability has always been spoken about and I’ve watched and I’ve seen patches of what I think he is capable of at our style of racing and I’m keen to see him get a season of it. I think there is a lot to be unlocked.”
