James Shaw Signs for Ribble Weldtite

Ribble Weldtite are delighted to announce the addition of James Shaw to their rider roster for the 2021 season. James joins the team from Danish Pro-Continental Team Riwal Securitas. The team are looking forward to James sharing his experience, climbing strength and all round versatility with the rest of the riders.

James will be a familiar name to many on the British scene, having previously tasted success at a domestic level, with wins in Elite Road Series events, the Ryedale GP and The Tour of the Reservoir in 2019. James was also 5th on GC in the Tour de Yorkshire that year. Despite the challenges presented this season, James has still amassed a number of quality races days, including representing Great Britain at the World Championships in Imola.

James “I’m incredibly grateful for the last minute opportunity from the team. I fully intend on making the most of it in 2020. I know a lot of the team at Ribble Weldtite and with their support I’m looking forward to getting out there and winning bike races again to help me return to the top of the sport.”

Tom Timothy, Ribble Weldtite Team Principal added, “We are really pleased to add James to our line up for 2021 and we feel with James we have a squad that can challenge at any level. James has an aptitude for arduous single day and multi day events and we will be looking to shape a calendar to enable him to showcase his talents in these events.

Alongside seeking to balance his racing opportunities throughout the season ensuring he competes at a UCI level and the domestic scene. We want to give all our riders the opportunity to gain the attention of WorldTour and Pro Continental teams and this is a key focus for James as well.”

Despite a challenging 2020 for obvious reasons, the team continues to go from strength to strength, with a clear vision and the commitment and support of a core group of partners. 2021 is shaping up to be the team’s most successful to date, both on and off the bike.
