News: British Junior Racing Team Tofauti Everyone Active

British junior racing team, Tofauti Everyone Active has confirmed their riders for the upcoming 2021 season, including six current or former national champions. The team, set up to assist aspiring young riders to take control of their cycling development, has also firmed up its 2021 sponsor roster and its race calendar is taking shape.

Following a scratched season in 2020, Team Tofauti Everyone Active is ready to make its mark on the UK and European scene in 2021 with strength in depth across both men’s and women’s teams.

The junior men’s team includes two-time Welsh Junior CX Champion Ben Bright and Callum Laborde, who recently represented GB at the UCI CX World Cup meeting in Tabor in the Czech Republic. The junior women’s team includes Ella Maclean-Howell, a former National XC Champion, Morven Yeoman, two-time winner of the Errigal International Youth Tour in Ireland, Eilidh Shaw, Scottish Champion in both Madison and CX, and Connie McLaughlin, a former National Hillclimb Champion.

The full line-ups are:
Junior Women – Connie McLaughlin, Domini Radway-Fatuga, Eilidh Shaw, Ella Maclean-Howell, Grace Castle, Martha Lebentz, Morven Yeoman, Penny de Brett.

Junior Men – Ben Bright, Callum Laborde, Dexter Leeming-Sykes, Jake Crossley, Joseph Smith, Josh Brown, Nathan Hardy.

“After the disappointment of not being able to get up to speed last season with most races at home and abroad being cancelled, we’re really excited to really get going in 2021,” explained Team Manager Ian Mansel-Thomas. “We created a new kind of junior team in 2020, one that offers a strong support network both on and off the bike, and despite not being able to achieve much racing, still had a huge amount of interest for this season. With former, current and hopeful national champions in both the men’s and women’s teams there’s real strength in depth and paired with another exciting race calendar we’ve got a great season ahead of us.”

The team has dual targets this year. In the UK, they’ll be targeting the Junior National Series, while in Europe they have secured invitations to a large number of UCI one-day and stage races. The riders will also get the chance to do some more unusual events, such as The Racing Collective’s OxDURO one-day ride and RedBull TimeLaps.

The team’s headline partners are The Tofauti Foundation and Everyone Active. The Tofauti Foundation is a charity set up by Olympic gold medal winner Crista Cullen, supporting initiatives in Africa which further the coexistence of people and wildlife.

Everyone Active runs sports and leisure facilities across the country and, through the pandemic, they have been keeping thousands of people fit and active through their online resources. The team’s bike sponsors will be Basso, with components from Campagnolo, Miche, Deda Elementi, Prologo and KMC making up the team’s race machines.

The team is also supported by a range of other partners – Two Wheel Claims, the specialist cycling accident lawyers, Pact Coffee, Loughborough Finance for Sport, RGT Cycling, Green Square and Laka insurance. Team kit comes from Paria. There are also sponsorships confirmed with a range of cycling brands – Kask, Koo, Muc-Off, Continental Tyres, Veloforte, VeloToze, Premax, Komoot, Busby and MyWindsock.
