News: Dan Martin Still Learning

Coming from a cycling family of legends, and in his 14th season as a professional, Dan Martin admits he is still learning and will do from new teammates Chris Froome and Michael Woods. “These riders share their experience and together we become a better team.”

“I am happy to see that the team is getting stronger. It’s never bad to have better riders around you. That gives confidence. I know I can learn a lot from riders like Froome and Woods.“We can all get better,” said Martin. “Ultimately, it is about the results that the team achieves.”

The experienced rider who has won the Monument Leige Bastogne Leige among other big races, finished fourth in the Vuelta a España last year, less than three minutes behind overall winner Primož Roglič. He also finished fourth in the Tour of Valencia in 2020 and fifth in Flèche Wallonne.

“It’s my second year in this team now, and I am really happy this team is still strengthening” said the 35 year old. “It’s never a bad thing to have team mates by your side in the final (days) of these races, and to be surrounded by the strong riders that we now have in this team, who will be on the start line this year. There’s no room for me to sit here and talk about personal ambition. I want what’s best for the team, and we’re going to work in the best way possible to get those results.”
