News: British Womens Team Cup Zwift Racing
The final Zwift race in the British Womens Team Cup is being held on the London Pretzel course at 10 am Sunday May 9th.
Lisa writes… I can’t believe we’re getting ready for the last race in the Zwift Series already – time is really flying and soon (Covid willing) we will be racing IRL – an acronym sent to me recently which I had to google – it means ‘In Real Life’! I hope you have all enjoyed the early season racing and that it has provided an early insight to the racing prowess and tactics of the teams that you will be racing against for the rest of the season.
The race next Sunday is an extra date I added to the British Team Cup calendar in that it doesn’t replace a Covid cancelled race this time. It was just to provide a chance for teams that couldn’t enter the first race to get three races in. I’ve chosen the London Pretzel course which is a slightly different type of course that will require different team tactics as it is largely flat to start with but still with a couple of climbs over Box Hill in both directions.
As Saint Piran were not able to race in the last event, TW1 Racing went into the lead with Pro-Noctis – Redchilli Bikes – Heidi Kjeldsen hot on their heels in second place. Saint Piran are still in third but I am advised are looking to take back the overall! Remember all can change as each team takes their top 3 race results out of the four races so even if your team hasn’t competed so far, there are still team points up for grabs. So, I am looking forward to another exciting race ably commentated by our Zwift Race sponsors Matt Payne and his team from Full Speed Events!
