Winner of the Lancaster GP as well as the Barnsley Road Race (5 races in all this year), Josh Whitehead will be racing in Swift Carbon Pro Cycling colours from now on. Josh has been racing since 2014 and is currently a 1st category Under 23 rider.

His new team manager, Paul Lamb, says of the signing, “The team are delighted to announce the signing of Josh Whitehead, one of the country’s best young talents. I’ve been talking to Josh for several weeks, but wanted to finalise his signing when we returned from the Tour of Portugal this week and we both agreed that he should ride Lancaster GP out of respect for his former team.”

“I suspected he would do well, but didn’t necessarily expect him to win and now find ourselves in a leader’s jersey we didn’t really want. The jersey is for Josh not us, but we hope to consolidate it in the upcoming Rydale GP which we won last year. Josh is very ambitious and we hope to play a big part in his continued development onto the next level. He was impressed by the depth of experience and expertise at the team and the way that riders are nurtured in a positive and supportive environment. He’s aware of the quality race programme we’ve slowly developed and the great results the team has had.”
