Clanfield Cross International Cyclocross Event

Next weekend volunteers from Solent Pirates Youth Cycling Club are delivering a world class cycling event in Clanfield. The club, set up in 2012, supports young cyclists in their passion for cycle racing on the road, in the velodrome and off road, both mountain biking and cyclocross.

Cyclocross is hugely popular in the club and has been the motivation behind wanting to organise a world class event. The event is attracting the cream of British cycling talent including riders consistently on the podium at the best international races. The elite races on Saturday will be followed on Sunday by a Wessex League regional race when hundreds of local riders will test their skills on the same technically and physically demanding course. The club is hoping spectators will come along and take a look at this exciting and very skilful form of bike racing.

This high-profile event would not be possible without the significant support of several local businesses, including Vitus Bikes, Sky Farm Park, Rijden, Bladez Toyz, ActiveBike and Phantom
Motors.

Expect great racing, tired legs but lots of smiles from the weekend.
