This week saw the team launch for the Edinburgh Road Club’s youth race team, 12 Young riders aged 13-16 will ride for the ERC Goodson Race team in 2022 competing in track, road, time trial and cyclocross. The team are delighted to have continued support from Goodson Associates who are now in their 5th year of supporting the team. In that time, the team has produced numerous Scottish & British Champions and remains Scotland’s most successful youth race team.

This season the team will be spearheaded by 2nd year U16’s Rhys Edwards and Ahron Dick. Rhys was Scottish TT and Hill climb champion last year, also placing well in the British champs at Mallory Park with 5th overall. Ahron was 3rd overall in the Scottish youth series last year as a first year. Both are planning a full campaign of British series races this season as well as some international races.

Promising 1st year A’s Jamie Sweeney and Struan Shaw dominated the Youth B category last year in Scotland, picking up all the wins in the series and the championships as well. We can’t wait to see how they get on in the Youth A category.

The girls are lead by GB academy rider Sarah Johnston who recently broke the Scottish record for the 500m TT on the track. Ably backed up by experienced riders Anna Birrell and Niamh Waters plus Kasey Park who is new to the team this season.
