Team News: MAS Design – Fensham Howes Junior Team

Team MAS Design – Fensham Howes: powered by Silverstone have launched their squad for 2023 on Saturday (21 January) at the Scott Sports UK HQ. The team including five returning riders and two new signings will take on a packed calendar of some of the biggest races across the UK and Europe this year.

With a strong line up of returning riders, including, Jed Smithson, Alex Beldon, Ben Wiggins, Mattie Brennan and Jacob Bush the team isn’t short of options for any race. To further bolster the squad, recently crowned British junior National Cyclocross champion, Seb Grindley and Oliver Dawson will race for the team on the continent.

Team manager, Giles Pidcock, said: “We’ve got a talented line-up of riders this year and a fantastic race programme for them to hone their skills and ultimately win some races! We’re fortunate this year to again have the backing of some great sponsors and technical partners allowing the team to race and train to their highest level, and ultimately secure that next stepping stone towards a professional contract.”

James Wagner, J’s Cycles owner, said: “Racing is a big part of who we are at J’s Cycles, with racing stalwarts including John Tanner, and Kev Dawson being part of J’s Cycles we jumped at the chance to be involved with the MAS Design – Fensham Howes team. We’re excited to help the riders develop over the next year!”

They have a proven track record of developing talented riders and helping them reach their goals of making it to the World Tour winning some of the biggest races. With former riders including Tom Pidcock and Sam Watson now racing at World Tour level for INEOS Grenadiers and Groupama-FDJ respectively, the team has a proven track record of developing talent ready for the under-23 level and beyond. In a change for 2023 the team will be racing aboard Scott bikes, as seen in the World Tour. With a choice of the lightweight Addict RC and aero Foil RC at their disposal. The bikes will be maintained to the highest standards by J’s Cycles thanks to their long standing partnership with Scott. Scott will also provide Centric and Cadence helmets along with Road RC EVO shoes.

The teams first race for the team in 2023 on the continent is Junior Kuurne Brussels Kuurne which will see the team race against some of the best junior talent in the world.
