A windy but dry day met the riders in Dorset for the early season Azets Spring Classic. Usually run over 2 days, this season saw the new one-day format, with all three stages in one day. Stage 1 was a short 1-mile hill TT which was won by Cormac Nisbet of Zappi Jnr Race Team. A short ‘rest’ and then the 10-mile road bike only time trial was held. This was on a testing course which was very wind affected. A strong performance by Kevin Chant from Wightlink, Wight Mountain CRT saw him secure the win with the only time under 24 minutes.

A longer break for the riders and a re-location to The Inside Park before the start of the 85km road race on the grippy Blandford Circuit. Nine laps of this course lay in wait for the racers and with all to play for in the GC, it saw plenty of action. Harvey Lawson from Kalas Motip Race Team took the win in the road race, closely followed by Finlay Hawker from Zappi Jnr Race Team in 2nd & Guido Blee from Paceline RT in 3rd.

The overall GC saw a super strong performance by Christopher Booth from Giant Kendal-Sidas UK take the win by 9 secs from Guido Blee(Paceline RT) with Charlie Beake from Java Kiwi Atlantico a further 1 second behind Blee.

A huge thanks to all the volunteers, officials, NEG accredited Marshals that made the race happen and to Azets UK for supporting cycle racing in Dorset & beyond.
