Joe Wilson and Barney Clacy winners at round 3 of the SACA Salt Ayre Tuesday Series on May 2 in the North West

Crit Result: SACA Salt Ayre Tuesday Series

Round 3 of the SACA Salt Ayre Tuesday Series was organised by Kent Valley RC and provided scratch races for 3/4 cats over 40 minutes and E/1/2/3 cats over 55 minutes. The 3/4 race saw a strong break get away early and stay out there. Barny Clacy won the mid distance prime and went on to win alone after dropping break-away companion Kev Chadwick (Lakes RC) on the final lap. The bunch gallop for 3rd place was won by Hal Saner-Haigh (Cog Set Papyrus).

The E/1/2/3 race was aggressive from the start with several attack attempts which resulted in a group of 7 detaching themselves from the bunch, which was then whittled down by retirements to a bunch of just 6, who were eventually lapped by the leaders. Ben Granger won the mid distance prime then, on the last lap, Joe Wilson took off alone for a solo win whilst Ben Granger won the group sprint from Ben Wiggins.

Next Tuesday 9th May sees Round 5 again run by Kent Valley RC with races for Master over 40 3/4 cat and Open 2/3/4 cat.
