Team News: Harry Birchill stays with Saint Piran

Harry is a rider who from the start of the season (Perfs Pedal)  to the end of it was coming up with great results for his team and one of the riders dominating the National A races. Looking forward to seeing Harry racing here in the UK in between his events abroad. Harry was second in the Belgian UCI race Muur Classic Geraadsbergen as well having many a podium in Britain.

Team boss Richard Pascoe: “A resounding success on the road, when we stop and reflect, as he has only been racing on the road for 18 months we must be in we of his progression. It’s a lot for Harry to take on with new performance coaching, lifestyle changes being on the road as opposed to the off road trails with travelling making for huge adaptions for any new road rider.
Harry has settled in so well to these and given stunning performances and team duties to Saint Piran throughout 2023. There are many highlights – he was narrowly pipped by Jack Rootkin Gray at the year end in the U23 category for the British Cycling seasons results 2nd overall. He completed several pro series races and was ranked 5th in the UK along with a victory in the Ryedale Grand Prix one of the stand out moments.”

Harry: “The aim for 2024“ says Harry Birchill “is to build towards that world tour contract. We are planning some races which suit my style of riding working closely with our in house performance coaching team Holohan coaching has been one of the most significant steps in my career. In addition, the team provides the best family environment with a focus on winning and cohesion. It’s also rumoured we have more overseas stage races in 2024 so I’m keen to build without overdoing the early season training as I did in 2023. We have two road captains in Alex Richardson and newly signed Harry Tanfield which add a new dynamic for next year and I’m up for putting myself forward as a vice captain. I’d like to add thank you to those that adopted me in 2023 and have plans to add some more personal touches to my 2024 adoption.”
