LA FLECHE WALTONNE ROAD RACES
Sunday 7th April.

Organised by Phil Rayner for 15 years and counting, on behalf of the Welland Valley CC, this event is the 2nd round of the BMCR.org.uk Percy Stallard national road race series for Masters (Over 40s) racers.

Age groups range from 40 plus, 50 plus 60 plus 70 plus ,and even Bill Coton at 75 plus!

HEADQUARTERS: Husbands Bosworth Sports Hall, LE17 6JZ open from 8.30am

Directions: off junction 20 of the M1 (signposted Lutterworth), take the A4304 road to Market Harborough. Go through Walcote & North Kilworth. You’ll see the HQ on the right hand side as you enter Husbands Bosworth. There is ample parking on the field, however please DO NOT PARK on the football pitches. The Race HQ has toilet and showering facilities. Tea coffee and cakes available all morning

THE COURSE
Start – NEUTRALIZED from race hq, turn right out of HQ and take first left (A5199) just past The Bell Pub. Continue for 2 miles

The races will be NEUTRALIZED until you get to junction with B 5414,RACE DENEUTRALIZED.

Continue along A5199 to Shearsby crossroads.Turn left onto Bruntingthorpe rd. Take first left, signed Walton New Road, past Upper Bruntingthorpe, through Walton village GREAT CARE through village to turn left signed to Husbands Bosworth, bear left on exiting village. Proceed to junction with B5414 through finish at the top of the hill, then left to join A5199 to complete the lap.

RACES
Race 1 – for riders in A & B and C category, 45 mls 4.75 laps
Race 2 – for riders in D E F G H category, 45 mls, 4.75 laps

START TIMES
Race 1 will start at 10.00 prompt. RIDERS TO ASSEMBLE AT 9.55AM AT THE EXIT GATES TO HQ
Race 2 will start at 10.05 prompt. RIDERS TO ASSEMBLE AT 10 AM AT THE EXIT GATES TO HQ
