CX Result: Mid Shropshire Wheelers Friday Night Cyclocross
Mid Shropshire Wheelers continue to offer their hugely popular Friday Night Cyclo Cross through August on the established course at Shrewsbury Sports Village, scene of two National Championships in the last few seasons. Condensing the course, run under British Cycling Go Race format, to just run within the SportsVillage Cycle Track area gives a fun 2km circuit, no prizes, no ranking but low entry fee and a chance to hone skills ahead of the Shimano Lazer West Midlands Cyclo Cross League event that takes place on Sunday September 15th.

Friday 9th August saw a great entry in the Under 12s of 22 riders which will surely build as holiday season winds down, low, low entry in the Youth race which must give cause for concern regionally and Nationally but again great numbers in the Junior, Senior, Veteran with double digit female entry. Riders coming from as far as London, Leicester and Lincoln! Liam Holohan ended the evening victorious after a lightning fast start from local Junior Alex Hart and Shrewsbury regular Nick Whitley with a chase from slower starting Holohan and Giles Drake providing an exciting evening programme finale. Topped off by fireworks from the Shrewsbury Flower Show.

Entry for the final 3 events, supported by Fenwicks Cycle Maintenance Products and the Shimano Lazer West Midlands Cyclo Cross League Event, is provided by the online entry provider RIDER HQ.
