Rider News: Matt Thompson has signed up to race in France next season for BMC Bezier and will move their shortly. Matt is excited to also be racing with four or so other UK Juniors in the French system who are also now good friends.

British Junior, Matt Thompson (Cannibal B Victorious) is set to join the French cycling team BMC Béziers for the 2025 season. This move comes after a notably swift rise in cycling, where Matt transitioned from rugby two years ago to amassing multiple podiums and top 10 finishes both in the UK and internationally as well as a national CTT title in his debut full season in 2023.

Despite two serious crashes and mechanical issues in his target races in 2024, Matt’s performance record and physiological test data including a record breaking VO2max score has quickly distinguished him as a cyclist with significant potential. “I’m excited to start this new chapter with BMC Béziers and look forward to the intense competition and learning opportunities ahead,” said Matt.

Matt’s recent achievements in the UK and abroad have marked him as one of the promising talents to watch in the coming years.
