RESULT: 2nd Portsdown Classic

Jordan Giles won the first road race of 2025, the Portsdown Classic, after being in a breakaway all race and then powering clear on the steep climb to the finish

RESULT: 2nd Portsdown Classic

In short, this road season kicker in winter on a hilly circuit and even tougher finish, saw a number of early attacks until four riders went clear early on; Jordan Giles, Thomas Springbett, Oliver Richardson and Judicael Clair. They were reduced to three as Richardson lost contact. |Despite chase groups and the pace getting quicker in the peloton as the race went on, the break held their own but on the final lap, a group of four – Sam Long, Tom Couzens, Joshua Horsfield and Edward Morgan was clear of the reduced peloton. It was the latter rider from that chase group who managed to get on the podium by catching Judicael Clair in the finale. Jordan Giles out front meanwhile applied the pressure multiple times on that last lap, going clear on his own and leaving it all out there to cross the line exhausted but well happy!
