Over the last couple of weeks, there has been a LOT of encouragement, help & flexibility shown by the race organisers & helpers as an alternative race has been sorted for the cancelled White Peak Race on the 11th May. So making a late change was always going to be tricky so a few of things to note;_

1. As co-ordinator it was my (Steve James) intention to replace like with like – ie another road race. The easy option may have been to include another criterium style/old airfield type race which would have been the third of that type. My reasoning was that the Stallard series winner should be the best overall rider (climbing, descending & handling skills etc) & not just one who can sit in the wheels, popping out with a fast gallop at the end. ? 2. Peterborough CC race has now moved (was 29th June) to the now free slot – May 11th, spreading the races over the summer & reducing the previously heavy June fixtures. This moves also avoids a clash with the Womens Road race scheduled for the 29th June

3. BMCR are pleased to include the Cheltenham & County road race on the 17th August as the last & now final round of the Stallard series for 2025. This will be their first promotion so any help (marshalling in particular) will be gratefully received.

Hopefully the main website & the calendar (https://bmcr.org.uk/results-calendar/z02-new-calendar-page/) will be updated in the next few days but thought best to get this published asap. So revised dates are:

— 13/04/2025 – Stallard #1 –Bovington Tank Museum
— 11/05/2025 – Stallard #2 – Southwick nr Peterborough
— 01/06/2025 – Stallard #3 – Darly Moor
— 15/06/2025 – Stallard #4 – Equipe Velo, Cranfield
— 22/06/2025 – Stallard #5 – Addiscombe
— 27/07/2025 – Stallard #6 – Dulwich
— 03/08/2025 – Stallard #7- Tour of Breedon
— 17/08/2025 – Stallard #8 – Cheltenham & County including Stallard Series finale & Presentation

PS – yes I know that will not suit everybody – happy to print full disclosure of correspondence to show how many organisers want above & beyond, even trying to move agreed race dates to allow other races to drop into the calendar – thank you.
