Quiz Time with James Ingham ( Prologue Race Team)
James has been riding his bicycle since he was seven and has seen success both here in Britain and abroad in international races and is back racing junior events in 2025 for his team Prologue Racing

VeloUK: How long have you been cycling?
James: I have been riding my bike since I was seven with my dad, kind of just going out on adventures from home. I started racing when I got to secondary school. I would go out with my mate after school most days. I had some really fun adventures after school exploring the Forest of Bowland.

VeloUK: How’s the winter training been going?
James: It has been going well until recently when I came off my bike and have badly bruised my arm so I can’t race the first few races with the team as I am struggling to ride at the moment, but the calendar is packed this year with Prologue thanks to the Team Managers Rob and Glen. I won’t miss much!

VeloUK: What were your racing highlights of 2024 in your first year as a Junior?
James: Coming first British Young Rider and 4th Young Rider overall in the International UCI stage race at GP Ruebliland in Switzerland was cool as that was an adventure I won’t forget. Winning the Prologue Road Race (Pennypot Lane Harrogate) was great and coming 1st Junior and 2nd Overall at the Sloan Trophy (North East race) was really fun as well; I loved that course.

VeloUK: What are you looking forward to the most this year?
James: Hanging out and racing with the team this year. It’s going to be so much fun; the lads are so cool and so are the opportunities. The team super special. I can’t wait!

VeloUK: Who has had the most impact on your cycling?
James: My coach Rob Pye. I have been so lucky to have crossed paths with him. When I was little, I would go round to his house, he would tell me stories of him racing all over, I was in awe every time. He had so many stories and they were hilarious. I see him a lot, I go round and we play guitar together, discuss training and race tactics.

VeloUK: What are the key events in 2025 that you’re looking forward to?
James: There’s so many races that I am so excited for but one that really sticks out to me is the French Valromey Tour (10th -14th July). It’s 5 stages and is known as the Junior Tour de France.

Good luck James in 2025 and hope the injury heals quick so you can be in the race mix soon!
