INEOS Grenadiers Racing Academy (MEN’S Continental) — (Press Release) The Racing Academy will be the cornerstone of the Grenadiers’ performance pathway, incorporating a UCI Continental team and elite young rider development programmes. Created to develop and inspire the next generation of INEOS Grenadiers, the Racing Academy will nurture and develop riders who combine talent with the commitment and resilience to realise their full potential.
The Racing Academy will provide a structured environment that mirrors the standards of the WorldTour – preparing young riders for the rigours of racing as a team at elite level. The inaugural INEOS Grenadiers Racing Academy line-up brings together a group of riders from across the world, each demonstrating a desire to challenge themselves.
RIDERS
Josh Charlton (22) – Great Britain
A time trial specialist and flat-terrain powerhouse, Charlton is a track world champion and world record holder in the individual pursuit. A British, European and world champion in the velodrome, Charlton will now look to transfer his skill and speed to the road.
Max Hinds (18) – Great Britain
Two-time medallist at the Junior World Track Championships, Hinds impressed on the road with fourth in the Junior World Road Race in Kigali and fifth in the individual time trial. A powerful climber, he combines track talent with road versatility to make him a strong all round rider.
Dylan Sage (18) – Great Britain
Having started riding at Geraint Thomas’ first club, Maindy Flyers, Sage looks to follow in his footsteps. A climber with time trial ability, the Welshman has shown consistency in stage-racing and one day races, highlighted by a fifth place finish at Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne Juniors.
Cameron Rogers (21) – Australia
Rogers follows in the footsteps of his uncle and former three-time time trial world champion, Michael Rogers, who rode for Team Sky during the 2011 and 2012 seasons. He announced himself on the international stage in 2024, winning the prologue at the Tour of Austria.
Fletcher Medway (18) – Australia
A former triathlete who has made rapid progress in 2025, Medway has settled well in Europe and developed into a climber with promising potential.
Hugo Boucher (18) – France
A rider of tactical intelligence and resilience, Boucher placed in the top-10 at the Liège-Bastogne-Liège junior race and has consistently performed in demanding one day races for his team.
Max Standen (18) – Great Britain
A mountain-bike convert with outstanding physical potential, Standen brings power, agility, and technical skill to an exciting future on the road. A talented climber, Standen has an untapped potential that can be nurtured in the academy set up.
Mattie Dodd (21) – Great Britain
Raised in the UK racing scene, Dodd quickly built a reputation for his work ethic and ability to read races beyond his years. Whether it’s driving the pace on the climbs, positioning smartly in the final kilometres, or committing to team roles, he’s shown the traits that mark out a promising future.
Davide Frigo (18) – Italy
A talented climber with a strong set of results on the Italian national circuit, Frigo demonstrates tactical maturity. Following in the footsteps of his brother, WorldTour rider Marco Frigo, the young Italian lives and breathes the sport.
Milkias Maekele (20) – Eritrea
A sprinter with multiple victories in Africa and Asia, Maekele trained at the UCI African Cycling Centre in South Africa and has previously raced at Continental level. Taking to the European circuit for the first time, Maekele will be one to watch at the sharp end of races.
Nicolas Milesi (21) – Italy
A strong time triallist, Milesi brings valuable experience having raced previously with a WorldTour team. As one of the most experienced racers of the group, he will be a key team member in guiding the younger riders, as well as push himself to reach his potential.
Theodor Storm (20) – Denmark
Storm has already gained experience racing at Continental level and after a challenging start to his time with the team, his experience will be important in 2026.
Geraint Thomas, Director of Racing, said: “The academy system played a major role in shaping my career. It taught me how to be a pro – looking after myself, staying healthy, being organised and preparing properly. All those simple habits and behaviours have stayed with me throughout my career.
“For me, the priority is helping young riders learn what it means to be a professional. Some are living away from home for the first time, some have moved across the world, so there’s a lot for them to take on. It’s about race-craft, understanding their bodies and managing their emotions, and not just hitting numbers. It’s the full package.
“We have signed some exciting guys to the Racing Academy, and seeing all of them together for the first time, felt like I was stepping back 20 years. I could picture myself sitting where they are now, with the whole journey ahead of them. They’re young, keen and it’s brilliant to have them integrated with the WorldTour team.”
