UK Youth came to the 2013 Perfs Pedal after a training camp in Majorca and dominated the race with their riders filling the first six places. With the race held in pouring rain and wind, the race started to split early on and a large group of a dozen or so riders went clear.

In that group were the six UK Youth riders and at half distance, Marcin Bialoblocki attacked solo and went clear. While Marcin ploughed on through the flooded roads high above Portsmouth, his five teammates had to ride fast enough to stay clear of the peloton but not too fast to bring back their teammate.

Perfs is no stranger to adverse weather conditions but race director Mick Waite showed some sympathy cutting the race by one lap. Marcin duly carried on to win the race and even with the extra lap, would probably have done so. It was his first victory in the event after having finished on the podium before.

Behind Marcin, a natural selection of the strongest riders was made on the final lap which saw the next five places filled by his teammates lead by new UK Youth rider Rob Partridge and team sponsor Yanto Barker.

Special Award: In memory of James Atherton, a young member of  VC St Raphael who died following an accident riding his bike, this award was presented to the first 2nd category rider,  Tristan Robbins (Cardiff JIF) (Junior).

Lots of interviews to come and more photos as well this week on VeloUK.net
