News: Southern Cross Champs at Harwell

Club first as Didcot Phoenix cycling club hosts Southern Region’s cyclo-cross championships

December 8 will see Didcot Phoenix Cycling Club host the BC South’s regions South of England Cyclocross Championships at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Harwell. Featuring some of the best championship riders from the South of England, the event will also offer riders of all levels a chance to test themselves over the technical Harwell course.

The event will feature 7 categories- Under 10s, 12’s, Junior, Novice, Women, Veterans and Senior Men. “Didcot Phoenix is delighted to be hosting this fantastic championship event for the second time, and will be my biggest and best ever”’ commented Duncan O’Reilly, DPCC’s Cyclocross Race Organiser.

“Cyclocross is a great way for people of all ages and abilities to get involved in cycling and our event at Harwell gives everyone the chance to come along and get involved. We’ll be testing some of the best riders from the South of England to their absolute limits over this course.”

Racing will start at 1030 On Sunday, with the Senior race at 1400. With fun for all the family, including a bouncy castle, fully licenced bar, tea and cakes and a range of trade stands, wrap up and discover the action of Cyclocross at its best.
