Handmade Pro Tubulars for Everyone from Continental

Last year I saw teams like UK Youth using a special pro team only tubular and when I was at Icebike recently for the Madison-Genesis team launch and Tour Series presentation, I spied the following display (below) promoting two tyres that have evolved from those tubulars.

The pro version I saw last year were used by teams such as BMC, Orica-GreenEdge, Lotto and Lampre as well as some British teams and the Attack and Force Comp tubulars are close relatives of the Competition Pro Ltd but with a butyl tube rather than latex.

The tubs have a semi slick tread pattern for faster straight line speed and a 22mm front/24mm rear TPS format which means each tyre is developed for the specific front and rear application

It is Conti’s first ‘TyrePositioningSystem (TPS) Tubular. At the front, the 22 mm narrow Attack Comp does its work and provides improved aerodynamics as well as high agility through faster transition into corners.

At the rear, the Force Comp power machine at 24 mm provides a large contact area that guarantees a better power transmission as well as low rolling resistance.

Couple this with a higher service mileage and a higher level of comfort thanks to the wider casing, and you get a tubular which is especially forgiving with today’s ultra stiff racing bikes. So say Conti!

The tubulars are hand sewn in Korbach and features Continental’s BlackChili Compound as well as Vectran TM Breaker anti puncture technology.
