Rob Sharland and Keith Lea make it a double for Paceline in the Axiom 10 and 25 Open time trials on the weekend

Saturday was fine and obviously suited, as Michael Hutchinson’s 15 year old course record was broken twice; Rob Sharland of Paceline RT now being the owner of that record at 18:49, 11 seconds clear of Fareham Wheelers’ Paul Ashley in second. Rachel Elliot of Newbury CC scooped 1st place in a rapid 20:36 in the women’s competition ahead of i-team’s Caitlin Peters.
Although the predicted poor weather didn’t stop the race on Sunday, it did put off over half the field. Although no records were broken, Keith Lea kept Paceline RT winning ways alive, nearly breaking the 50 minute barrier to claim 1st place. Gary Chambers (Fareham Wheelers) and Tom Pritchard (Hampshire RC) taking 2nd and 3rd places.
