The sun was out again at the latest round of the Brooks Cycles Track League making for some great racing with a good turnout of riders

Report & Results: Brooks Cycles Track League

The sun was out again at the latest round of the Brooks Cycles Track League after last week’s torrential rain. The warm weather made for some great racing with a good turnout of riders at The Lyme Valley Velodrome, Newcastle, Staffs.

The night started with the Freewheelers League with a great turnout of riders. The top point’s scorers after the full program were as follows;

Group 1 Izaak Curtis Lyme RC 8 points
Group 2 Euan White Lyme RC 9 points
Group 3 James Swinnerton Lyme RC 10 points

In the main league the Keiren final saw a blanket finish for the top 4 positions with Joel Partington ( Sportcity Velo ) taking the win from Barney Swinnerton ( Swinnerton Cycles ) and Sean Mayer ( Swinnerin Cycles ) . The same 3 riders also won the team sprint event.

The A Class endurance league saw first time rider Reece Wood ( Velocity Global Bikes ) win the 10 lap scratch, devil and unknown distances races with Jake Stewart ( Swinnerton Cylces) winning the final 10 mile scratch as he Reece Wood, Matt walls ( Velocity Global Bikes) and Ben Hardwick ( Swinnerton Cycles ) lapped the field.

In the B Class events Dan Cooper ( Lichfeild CCC) won three races in the 8 lap scratch, devil and unknown distance. George Hancock ( Lyme RC) won the final 10 mile event for the B riders.
In the youth races Harry Ledingham Horn ( Lyme RC ) had a good night in winning the 400m standing start and a heat of the Keiren. Eddie McHugh ( Team Terminator ) won the final scratch race and also a heat of the Keiren as he also had a good nights results.
