News: Dan Patten Rides for Team Merlin 2018

Much respected Elite rider, Dan Patten will ride for Team Merlin for the 2018 season. Dan, rode with Asfra Flanders (Belgium) in 2017, following two years with Team Wiggins. Merlin’s sponsorship will allow Dan to continue to race in Europe & the UK as a full-time Elite rider.

Dan says of the sponsorship, “From featuring in a couple of promotional videos for Merlin in Belgium last year, to providing me with a Merlin Nitro SL midway through the season, to now Team Merlin. From the outset everyone at Merlin Cycles has been very keen, supportive and open minded and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can achieve at home and abroad, on and off the bike.”

“My race program is something that will develop week by week, but will include the major UK road races, Belgium and beyond. The first of those UK road races just happens to be the Chorley GP, home of Merlin Cycles, so a nice early season target to look towards. I’m looking forward to this new project in 2018 and a big thank you to all at Merlin Cycles for the support. Team Merlin begins.”

So we were happy to help when he needed a race bike part way through last season. While Dan will be racing as a lone Elite rider, we strongly believe that Dan’s future will be in a Professional cycling team.”

With our backing, Dan will be able to race our bikes at the highest level and focus on races in the UK and further afield” Dan Will be riding Merlin’s own bikes with Stages power and 3T finishing kit. Clothing will be provided by Castelli and Sidi.

Team Merlin will also be represented locally in the North West of the UK with Merlin Cycles staff who race at various levels and in a variety of disciplines.
