Whilst their first scheduled race of the season, Setmana Ciclista Valenciana, has been postponed until May, the British women’s team Drops have plenty of racing in the Belgian classics on their new Ribble bikes

Having measured the risk involved of having riders and staff travel to Spain from the UK and various parts of Europe to a region of Spain where cases were high, we decided to postpone our traditional Training and Partner Camp which was due to take place a week before Setmana Ciclista Valenciana until later in the season.

Our early season calendar now focuses heavily on Belgium with race invitations secured to some of the biggest races on the calendar. Our season opener will be Omloop Het Nieuwsblad on the 27th of February and followed by GP Samyn on the 2nd of March.

The team will travel to Belgium a week before to carry out a smaller technical training camp before racing gets underway. Upon consultation with our Team Doctor and British Cycling, we have decided to minimise international travel for our UK riders and staff, with all travel being carried out under our strict Covid-19 protocols.

We are delighted to announce that we secured invitations to Gent Wevelgem and Ronde van Vlaanderen to add to our classics race block in March and April.

The start of the season is now fast approaching, and the team are looking forward to racing again, although it will certainly be different without the fans present, we have some interesting plans to bring the race experience to you.
