Rider Feature: Riley Tonner

Riley: “I have been racing bikes since I was 4 years old starting with cyclocross and now racing across four disciplines MTB, CX, Road and Track! Love the way the different disciplines teaches me different skills for racing and training!”

Rider Feature: Riley Tonner aged 12 (CYCLOBOY RILEY on YouTube) who writes “I have been racing bikes since I was 4 years old starting with cyclocross and now racing across four disciplines MTB, CX, Road and Track! Love the way the different disciplines teaches me different skills for racing and training!”

“Results I am proud of so far in my racing, was last season achieving 16 podium’s with 6 of those being wins! Another one I am proud of and a highlight of the year is getting 5th in a crit race in Belgium in a big field of big Belgium lads!”

“With the highs comes the lows though and that came in the junior Tour of Assen in the Netherlands during stage 3 at the Col du Vam where being a light rider and good on climbs I was hoping to do well and climb the GC but poor positioning and not having the legs on the day I didn’t perform to what I’d hoped.”

“However the bad performances are always forgotten quickly when you’re away racing with mates as off the bike there’s always time for some fun. That is always my favourite part of racing and the adventures it takes me as I end up with friends around the UK and Europe!”

“My coach has taught me whatever happens in a race always learn from it and think what I would do differently next time! I am really excited to race as an U14 next season and with my new team Beeston CC! I am always grateful to my mum and dad for taking me all over the UK and also Europe to race! They are the best support!”

“My local bike shop Discover Bikes support me and do all my servicing and look after all my bikes which I am really grateful for! This year I was really proud to be asked to be an ambassador for Elves Bikes UK & Europe and will be racing there super colourful, lightweight aero bikes!”

What a lovely feature from Riley. Takes me back to when I was 12 and I wrote (hand written) my first book LoL back in Australia and before I became a bike rider. Good luck Riley in the winter and then even more luck for 2026 and going up a category… awesome read…
