Q: How long have you been racing?
Harrison: I did my first local cyclocross race when I was 9 because I wanted something interesting to do and to keep fit during my triathlon off season.
—-
Q: What results are you most proud of from your cycling career so far?
Harrison: 3rd at the XCC National Championships in 2024 because I was unwell at the start of the season and lost a lot of fitness but throughout the summer I kept building and ended it on a high. I also enjoyed the punchy and fast racing of short track.
—-
Q: How would you sum up your 2025 season?
Harrison: A good introduction to road cycling because previously I had only raced cyclocross and cross country mtb so throughout the season I gained lots of knowledge, improving my performance at every race.
—-
Q: What was the highlight of 2025?
Harrison: 6th at the Tour of Mendips Stage 2 because this was my best result of the junior national road series. It was an exciting stage to race because of the strong crosswinds and the short climbs which split apart the race leading to a reduced bunch sprint.
—-
Q: What race was the toughest in 2025?
Harrison: My last race of the season at UCI 2.1 GP Rüebliland as it had the highest level of racing I’ve ever competed in with the best junior teams in the world including many European National teams. Also, the mountainous terrain added to the difficulty of racing.
—-
Q: What was the worst luck you had to endure during a race in 2025?
Harrison: A crash at Otley Town Centre Crit on the last corner which wrecked my bike as well as causing me to miss the junior national road race championship because of the injuries I sustained.
—-
Q: What race was the most fun/enjoyable in 2025?
Harrison: Passendale kermesse in Belgium because it had an interesting course going through the countryside and back into the town with a main climb every lap. I got into the early break which stayed away, finishing 7th. The race was also very tactical, both the break and peloton were being controlled by a strong team.
—-
Q: Does the travel to races add to the adventure of racing your bike?
Harrison: Yes, I believe that travelling and staying away with the team helps everyone get to know each other better, as well as creating great memories that last a lifetime. Even though the traveling is very tiring, the opportunity to travel around Europe to races with stunning scenery and fully closed roads makes it all worth while.
—-
Q: Was 2025 a learning season and if so, what lesson learnt was outstanding?
Harrison: Yes, because it was my first full year road racing, the increased time and distance compared to youth and off-road racing was a new challenge. My priority was to gain experience of how best to feed and drink, before, during and after races. Also focussing on positioning in the bunch ready for key points in the race. For me, these are the most important things to get right in order to finish the harder and more attritional longer races.
—-
Q: What team are you racing for in 2026
Harrison: I am delighted to race for Prologue Performance Race Team. I was invited to be a guest rider for them at the end of last season for a block of UCI races and really enjoyed the exciting team atmosphere both inside and out of racing. I can’t wait for the season to start to go on more race trips with them again and race with other competitive riders.
—-
Q: Finally, who are the key people who are helping you to race and progress in the sport of cycling?
Harrison: I can’t thank my parents enough for all the financial and logistical support they give me to get to races as well as during them. Rob Beagley is also really generous with his time helping to make the race trips happen for Prologue RT. I also appreciate the support and encouragement I received from the parents of other riders, local people involved in the sport, and especially my coach Andy.
