Question time! Ollie Swinburn Q&A (Prologue Junior Racing Team) — As the 2026 season approaches, Prologue Junior Racing Team has added another exciting name to its roster: Oliver Swinburn. Making the step up from the Under 16 ranks, Ollie now faces the challenge of longer races, bigger fields, and the open-road dynamics of Junior competition.

Already recognised as a highly talented, multi-disciplined rider, Ollie has impressed across cyclo-cross and road and now looks set to make his mark on both the UK and European Junior racing scene. Expect to see him in the Prologue’s distinctive yellow & black jersey this autumn and winter as he continues to sharpen his skills in CX, having already been a regular feature on CX podium’s this season, before turning his focus fully to the road in the New Year.

With such a pivotal season ahead, we sat down with Ollie to talk about his journey so far, the transition to Junior racing, and his ambitions for the year ahead…

Q: How long have you been racing?
Ollie: I began my racing journey at the age of 10 when Lincoln Wheelers introduced a Go-Ride project at my primary school. This initiative allowed us to experience racing first-hand, and it was from this point that I started entering local cyclo-cross and road competitions.

Q: What results are you most proud of from your cycling career so far?
Ollie: Among my achievements so far, I am especially proud of winning the East Midlands cyclo-cross regional championships twice, first as an U14 and later as an U16 competitor. My ambition is to secure another victory in this event as a Junior this year (which he did).

Q: How would you sum up your 2025 season?
Ollie: The 2025 season has been a valuable learning experience, marked by both successes and challenges in road and cyclo-cross disciplines. I am pleased that the year is concluding positively, as I have achieved some strong results in my debut cyclo-cross season as a junior.

Q: What was the highlight of 2025?
Ollie: The standout moment of 2025 was the Scarborough National Series. Faced with a competitive field and a demanding circuit featuring a steep climb, I made an early attack and managed to stay away for several laps. With that effort I secured a top 5 finish and I was really pleased to be named the most combative rider of the race.

Q: What race was the toughest race in 2025?
Ollie: The Northwest Youth Tour proved to be the most challenging event of the season. It was a 3-day stage race, hilly circuit on Stage 2 and the final day was a punchy crit around the university, complete with numerous speed bumps, it was a great test both my endurance and race tactics.

Q: What was the worst luck you had to endure during a race in 2025?
Ollie: My most unfortunate moment was during the Youth Tour of Scotland. On the last stage, I was going well until I suffered three punctures on different sections of the course, which impacted my race and the any chance of a decent result.

Q: What race was the most enjoyable in 2025?
Ollie: It is difficult to single out a single most enjoyable race from 2025, as each one has offered its own unique and exciting moments.

Q: Which team are you racing for in 2026?
Ollie: In 2026, I will be racing for Prologue Racing Team. I am looking forward to stepping up to the Junior ranks and taking part in UCI races across Europe, which will be an exciting new challenge. We’ve got a solid race programme and a strong squad, it’s going to be a great season.

Q: Finally, who are the key people who are helping you to race and progress in the sport of cycling?
Ollie: My progress and achievements in cycling would not be possible without the support of many people. My parents and grandparents have been instrumental in my journey, alongside my cycling coach Andrew Fraser. I am also very grateful to Chez, Eddie, Geoff, and James for their encouragement, and to Gav, who always makes café rides enjoyable and memorable.

Good luck Ollie in 2026… that was a great Q&A, thank you.
